National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)
Works to improve the lives of people with mental illness through education, support, advocacy, and public awareness. NAMI offers a helpline that can be reached by calling 1-800-950-6264, texting "helpline" to 62640, or chatting online Monday through Friday from 10 AM–10 PM ET. In a crisis, people can call or text 988, which is available 24/7.
National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH)
A US agency that funds research at universities, medical centers, and other institutions through grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements. Donations to NIMH are tax deductible.

A nonprofit that works to eliminate barriers to effective and timely treatment.

Mental Health America (MHA) is the nation’s leading community-based organization devoted to addressing the needs of people living with mental disorders as well as promoting overall mental health. This nonprofit group promotes the idea of mental health as a critical part of overall wellness and serves as an authority in mental health support, recovery, and advocacy.
The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) is a non-profit organization dedicated to saving lives and bringing hope to those affected by suicide.
The Child Mind Institute is an independent, national nonprofit devoted to transforming the lives of children and families struggling with mental health and learning disorders. Lack of awareness and the stigma associated with mental illness prevents the treatment of many children and teens.

NTBHA is committed to providing quality mental and behavioral health services for individuals, regardless of their ability to pay, place of residence, and/or their experience of homelessness. NTBHA will waive or reduce fees for those experiencing financial hardship, according to equitable use of the sliding fee discount schedule provided by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission.
